It's been a busy time since the last news post, with lot's happening. There has been plenty of great general flying, some of which you can check out in the video Richard made: https://youtu.be/3B9ERitB0Mw
Here's a few of the other things:
Roy, Stu and Brian gave the mower a birthday, thanks chaps.
The committee initiated a voluntary donation scheme to raise funds for a club ride-on mower. The 2017 budget is very tight and we can't keep on indefinitely relying on volunteers to use their personal mowers. Please think hard about whether you can make a donation. Every penny donated will get us closer to owning our own mower.
We had some more wings awards, photos are in the certificate gallery. Congratulations to the recipients.
The multi-rotor pilot area grooming continues, here's a look at what was done recently..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3rCuVQJcmWM Awesome job Brian!
The last Friday of the month night flying is certainly taking off with a dedicated enthusiastic core of regulars. Time to fit those red and green LEDs and get into it. If you missed it on Facebook, check out the video from an earlier event.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nzA0z2ZpzgE and keep an eye out for a possible change to this regular date in the calendar. It may change to avoid conflicting with some other local regular flying events, but we'll keep you posted.
The FPV Quads enthusiasts held an awesome event on Saturday 25th Feb.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nSTpeR2r3yU Great turn-out guys and big shout out to Kev for organising thing.
Keep in touch on a more regular basis, join the club closed Facebook group. It is intended to give everyone the chance for more frequent "chatter" and to stay in touch for organising those ad-hoc, simply seize the moment flying opportunities: https://www.facebook.com/groups/733142846839722/
On a more sober note, there were a couple of occasions recently where club resources were not correctly put away (eg: wind sock and FPV gates). Please consider other club members and return club items to their correct storage location when you have completed your flying.
Let's make March an even better time, come along to the meeting first Sunday in March and have your say on what activities you'd like to see organised. Also, regularly check out the calendar of events to see what's coming up: http://www.phoenixmodelaviators.com/uploads/1/4/1/3/14131456/170205-1_phoenix_model_aviators_2017_calendar.pdf
The committee is currently talking about hosting another Pattern Flying event at the field later in the year; you may consider starting to practice for that.
